Who can come to the Youth Center? Salamanca Youth Center is a municipal agency that provides a drop-in site for youth between the ages of 5-18. Recreational and educational activities are offered. All youth must register upon entering the Center and sign a daily attendance sheet on future visits.
The Salamanca Youth Center is partners with the Genesee County Youth Bureau and has 4 AmeriCorps members who help at the Youth Center and in the community. If you have a project and need some volunteers to help, contact the Youth Center at 716-945-1311!
The Arts Alive summer theater program is once again being offered this year. This program is designed for children ages 5 - 18.
The Summer Playground Program is supervised playgrounds located at South Avenue (Youth Center), Erie Street, School Street, Pine Street and Highland Avenue.

The Salamanca Youth Bureau is now accepting letters of interest and applications for seasonal positions in both the Supervised Playground Program (7 weeks) and Arts Alive Theater Program (8 weeks).
Positions include: Seasonal Recreation Leaders, Seasonal Recreation Attendants, and Seasonal Recreation Attendant Substitutes. Must be at least 14 years of age to apply, and possess valid working papers. Positions offer up to 25 hours per week at minimum wage pay. Applications will be accepted from March 6 through April 10 and can be submitted by mail, email, or dropped off in person. 2026 Summer Playground Program
The 2026 Summer Playground Program will begin on Monday, July 6, 2026, and run through the summer.
Supervised playgrounds will operate Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM – Noon and 1:00 – 3:30 PM for youth ages 5–15.
In the event of rain or inclement weather, the park program will be cancelled for the day.
Playground sites include: South Avenue (Youth Center), Erie Street, School Street, Pine Street, and Highland Avenue.
Please note: This is a drop-in recreation program and not a substitute for childcare. Children may come and go as they choose.

2026 Arts Alive Summer Theater ProgramThe Salamanca Youth Bureau is currently accepting registrations for the 2026 Arts Alive Summer Theater Program, a free 8-week program that runs from July 1 to August 21, 2026.
Participants will learn about all aspects of the theater in a fun and engaging environment, with a final show/production at the end of the summer.
